Geelong City - Victoria

Geelong City is situated to the west of Melbourne city, located on on the mouth Barwon River and on Corio Bay in the state of Victoria, Australia. It is about 75 kilometres (approximately 47 miles) to the south west of the state capital city, Melbourne.

The name Geelong is officiated by Governor Richard Burke and is derived from an aboriginal name for the region, Jillong. The residents are known as Geelongites and home to the Australian Football Rules (AFL), the nicknamed The Cats.

Eastern Beach is a popular spot for swimming and water recreation activities and the sea bath is protected against shark attack.

Another attraction in Geelong city, is the Botanic Garden which I couldn't spare some times to visit it. Definitely will come back again for a weekend trip.
