The Great Ocean Road

The Great Ocean Road is a journey to one of Australia finest coastal drive in Victoria. It is home to the Twelve Apostles rock formation. Over the years due to weather and powering tides, several rocks formation have collapsed and a few of them are left standing.

The 243 km journey which starts from Melbourne City and ends in Warrnambool city offers a traveler a unique drive experience passing through Geelong City, stopping for a breathtaking view at Torquay coastal landscape but do expect some bumps and windy roads ahead into the mountain ranges. Along the coastal drive, there are several cities that you should pay a visit such as Geelong City, Anglesea, surf city -Torquay, Apollo Bay and Port Campbell.

The Moby Cafe, a beach house turned into a cozy restaurant, which I stopped by for a rest and have a decent Breakfast Panini and a cup of cuppacino.

Stop by for "nature call" ...hehehe.

Geelong City - Victoria

Geelong City is situated to the west of Melbourne city, located on on the mouth Barwon River and on Corio Bay in the state of Victoria, Australia. It is about 75 kilometres (approximately 47 miles) to the south west of the state capital city, Melbourne.

The name Geelong is officiated by Governor Richard Burke and is derived from an aboriginal name for the region, Jillong. The residents are known as Geelongites and home to the Australian Football Rules (AFL), the nicknamed The Cats.

The Bird of Paradise

The Bird of Paradise belongs to the Strelitzia family and originated from South Africa. The leaves are usually large, from 30–200 cm long and 10–80 cm broad.

The Bird Paradise with its distinctive head stem.

The flowers are produced in a horizontal inflorescence emerging from a stout spathe. They are pollinated by sunbirds (nectar birds), which use the spathe as a perch when visiting the flowers.

The leaves shape is similar to a banana leaf in appearance but with a longer petiole, and arranged strictly in two ranks to form a fan-like crown of evergreen foliage.

The weight of the bird on the spathe opens it to release the pollen onto the Sunbird's feet, which is then deposited on the next flower it visits.

The Royal Melbourne Show 2010

The Border Leicester breed has been proven to be an important maternal breed in Australia. First cross Border Merino ewes are sought after by leading Australian lamb breeders across the country because of their ability to produce large numbers of high quality lambs and wool over a wide range of climatic conditions.

A Llama is a much larger animal. They have been used as guard animals for alpacas. It is really not recommended though. Their larger size makes them great as a pack animal. They are also used for pulling carts.

An alpaca is approximately half the size of a llama. Too small to use for carting or packing. An alpacas function is to grow beautiful fleece.

Fun rides for family.
