Hiking at Mount Cathedral

The Mount Cathedral range is home to one of Melbourne's popular destination for rock climbing and trekking. The mountain area is viewable from Buxton to Alexander Highway. It boasts excellent camping site, heavily forested mountain, wild plants and friendly fauna such as lyrebird. The ground dwelling bird is notable for its mimicry on natural and artificial surrounding sounds. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see one but their mimicry cry can be heard in the mountain.

Bush Creek Wild Flowers

This flower is known as Agapanthus African Lily. The blue, violet and white tubular flowers are borne around the terminal branch and held high above the fountain of strap-like leaves.

The Australian Dandelion White Bride plant.

I guess the above could be the pincushion type-like flower.

Wild grass flower.

It is called the Lythrum Purple Loosestrife which is really a waterside plant and it will grow in any soil  or in a pond-side garden.

It is a strongly growing, upright plant that needs no support.
